Limits

  • Enlarging by more than 4x is refused unless you allow it; enlarged pictures look soft.
  • "Fit within" and "longest side" only shrink; they never enlarge a small picture.
  • Big reductions use stepwise halving, which keeps edges clean.
  • JPEG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid colour (white unless you choose another).
  • Animated GIFs keep only their first frame. HEIC/HEIF photos are not readable by most browsers; export them as JPEG first.
  • Everything runs on your device; images are never uploaded. Very large batches may be slow on phones.
