Limits

  • Reports only what the browser exposes: duration, picture size and whether it can play the file. The browser does not tell pages which codec, bit rate or frame rate a file uses, so this tool does not claim any.
  • For WAV, MP3, FLAC and Ogg files, the sample rate and (for WAV/FLAC) bit depth come from the file header, which this page reads itself. For other audio the browser decodes at its own rate and that rate is not the file’s.
  • Channels and the decoded check run only for files up to 60 MB and 30 minutes; larger files show duration only.
  • Safari and other browsers can read different formats, so "plays here: no" means only this browser, not that the file is bad.
  • Everything happens on this device; the file is never uploaded.

Ask the AI chat

The AI chat can run this tool for you. Try:

  • “what is the duration of this video?”
  • “show info about this audio file”
  • “what resolution is my video?”
