Image upscaler (2×)
Double the width and height of a small or low-resolution image with a super-resolution model that runs on your device.
- 1Add your image files
- 2Pick options
- 3Click Run
- 4Download result
Limits
- First use downloads about 48 MB once: the Swin2SR 2× model (21 MB, quantised, Apache-2.0, from huggingface.co) and the ONNX runtime (27 MB, from this site). After that it works offline.
- It cannot recover detail that is not in the image. It makes edges cleaner and plausible, but text, faces and fine patterns that were blurred away stay approximate and can look slightly painted.
- Output is always exactly twice the size, capped at 16 megapixels, so the largest input is about 4 megapixels (for example 2000 × 2000). Larger images are refused with a message.
- Big images are processed in tiles, so the progress bar moves in steps. On the CPU (WebAssembly) a 1 megapixel image can take a minute or more; WebGPU is much faster.
- Transparency is not kept: the result is opaque.
- Photos stay on your device. Only the model files are downloaded.
